Recently we saw very clear evidence of silent layoffs at Microsoft and even mainstream media agreed.
Years ago I heard from people who pretended to be ill to avoid getting fired (or going to work to be informed as such). They say some people literally get ill (loss of bowel control) due to stress.
Layoff trackers don't tell us what's going on. They might tell us IBM had no layoffs this year, even when tens of thousands are let go.
What happened to investigative journalism? All we see is parrots who ignore the elephant in the room. █
