Deadline Tomorrow (10th of September) to Appeal the EPO's Fleecing of Staff (Union to Make Legal Challenges)
The Staff Union of the EPO (SUEPO) in both major sites (Munich and The Hague) has reminded staff that tomorrow is the last day to challenge the ongoing passage of wealth, using monopoly money, from scientists to financial speculators who will lose this money but reward themselves with massive salaries.

In April of this year, SUEPO The Hague and SUEPO Munich distributed the template Request for Review to almost 300 colleagues to challenge the highly detrimental changes to the pension contribution rates imposed in January 2026 (see explanation of the reasons for the challenge here). Following the rejection of the RfRs, the legal challenge is now moving to the appeal stage. This stage concerns only colleagues who submitted an RfR in April. It is unfortunately no longer possible to join the legal challenge at this stage if you did not submit an RfR.
If you are unsure whether you submitted your RfR, please check whether you received the reviewed decision dated 10 June 2026, under reference MR/2026-0042. If you received this decision, you submitted an RfR and may now proceed with the appeal.
If you submitted an RfR using the template provided by SUEPO The Hague, please check the personal email address you provided to us. We have sent you the appeal template, associated documents and instructions for filing your appeal.
Please read the instructions carefully, follow the guidance for filing and make sure that your appeal is submitted no later than 10 September 2026.
