IBM Isn't Reporting Layoffs, But It Removes Tens of Thousands of People From Its Workforce
The persistent PR and puff pieces from IBM distract from the avalanche (puff and fluff aplenty today), which is discussed as recently as this afternoon because Red Hat and IBM already mark people for removal and some expect 25,000 PIPs by year's end. As highlighted below (screenshot, not text), the general expectation is a large RA wave after waves of PIPs or silent layoffs that help IBM avoid disclosures to investors or the government-mandated WARN notices:
