IBM PIPs Are Layoffs (RAs Come Later Even If You Satisfy the "Performance" and "Plan")
10 days ago: PIPs at IBMs are Layoffs Because They're Impossible to Satisfy (or They Terminate Workers Despite Satisfying Them)
Yesterday we mentioned a new discussion about PIPs and it did not take long for folks to point out the obvious. We wrote about this 2 days ago as well. PIPs are silent layoffs; no point resisting a PIP by trying to fulfill requirements; people say, you should instead gather evidence, litigate, and hope for a settlement (because they know their PIPs are a way to skirt the WARN Act, these might not be illegal per se, but they'd destroy morale and ruin the company's reputation in shareholders' eyes).
See the comments below.

Notice how "the media" almost never mentions silent layoffs, as if just because they're silent, there's nothing to investigate, nothing to see there. █
