The Landfill Keeps Working: Jane Bennett, Thing-Power, and a Theology of Lively Matter
Vital materialism treats food, metals, electricity, and waste as participants rather than props, and Christian creation theology has fewer objections than you might expect.

Down in the Swampy Lowlands: What Counts as Best Practice
Ask a working professional how they know what they know, and watch them apologize. They will tell you about the study, the guideline, the framework they were taught; then, lowering their voice, they will mention the thing they actually do, the judgment they have earned over fifteen years, as though it were a guilty secret. I will argue that practice knowledge is evidence in its own right, not degraded theory, by showing how Donald Schön, Michael Eraut, and an old Aristotelian word together widen what a discipline is permitted to count, and by showing where the famous hierarchy of evidence stops being useful.

He Never Let Me Down
I'm a latecomer who only came to know David Bowie after he had passed away, so I'm not sure I'm qualified to pass a proper verdict, but personally I quite like the three albums above.

Web Rendering Proxy
Web Rendering Proxy is a way to browse modern websites on #retro #vintage or just outdated gear. It's a single binary you run on a PC, then open that in your old device browser (either directly or as a #proxy). Now you can browse modern sites on the old device. It uses Chrom(e/ium) on your PC to do the rendering either to an image + imagemap, or simple HTML. Now I can read modern blogs on old tablets and laptops 😁👍

Ink and Letters (by ~moendopi)
The last time I posted something here I lamented that I felt like that there sometimes just isn't enough time. Not enough time to do all the things I want to do in that moment.
And yet, I did get two things I think are really neat done. <profound and wise words about patience>
Anyway, I made ink from walnuts, because I could. They're not even some kind of shitty alternative, like using poke berries to finger paint. It's pretty legit.

Gemlog Nostalgia
Do you know why reading other gemlogs / capsules fills you with a strong yearning of wanting to do the same?
Connections. The golden days of the Internet were filled with sparkly tape and glue websites. Blogs that lived in the quantum vaccuum of the Internet, writen for eveyrone and noone at the same time. A lovely time where people where not governed by what the algorithm wanted from you. Real people sharing their interest just because it was important to them. An ebb and flow of a conversation that never happened across TCP/IP. Gemini provides that to some extent, but careful now; It is not the answer. You are the answer. When I first joined this space 3 years ago it was barren. Filled with abandoned capsules and a landfill of "First Gemlog Posts".

Hello Gemini
I'd been a little interested in Gemini for about a year, and now I've finally managed to build my own capsule. As of writing, I don't even have a website of my own, so I ended up supporting Gemini before HTTP. Probably a rare case.
From here on, I'd like to center my updates on my Gemlog as much as I can. I'm also keen to exchange links with anyone willing, so please get in touch.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
