Microsoft Promised Them Bonuses, Instead They May Get Laid Off

Laid off or paid off?
Last night we mentioned that Microsoft executives were fleeing and then pointed out layoffs were imminent as early as today, based on this report. It says: "As Xbox swings the axe, Gears of War: E-Day developers fear they'll be laid off straight after launch - and right before they'd be due their bonuses..."
"According to Eurogamer," said another site, "anonymous employees behind Gears of War: E-Day fear layoffs could be imminent after the game launches on October 2, 2026, potentially costing them Metacritic bonuses and other financial incentives."
Kotaku says "many at The Coalition appear to fear Microsoft's axe will fall on them next" based on other (prior) events.
XBox is being phased out of existence. Microsoft does not need to sell something no sane company would buy. █
