The US government has made it easier for Microsoft to hide the mass layoffs

The face-saving Microsoft spin calls the abuse "political stunt" and calls newly-naturalised workers "Americans". But we don't want to touch the politics of it.
Instead, consider the PIP layoffs at Microsoft, even in India. The company is rapidly shrinking and PIPs do result in many "silent layoffs". Here's a canary from a week ago:
Microsoft has little to offer after the fall of Windows, so "Microsoft layoffs totally make sense.".

Microsoft is worst of GAFAM when it comes to this sort of abuse. The finger-pointing was based on the data available.
Now that Microsoft will struggle to renew permits even for existing staff it'll be easier to implement silent layoffs (non-renewals). █
