30 Years of KDE and "Project Banana"

"This is the repository for KDE Linux," says the repo, "codenamed "Project Banana": a KDE-owned general-purpose Linux®-based operating system." It is still actively developed as of a week ago. The last change was 7 hours ago. "Created on May 15, 2023", it seems to fill a gap left by KDE neon (site shows a screenshot dated 2024, around the time J. Riddell threw in the towel). The news section has not been updated for over a year.
KDE recently turned 30 (many blog posts about it this past week), it has clear limitations on slop (not much in the media about this decision; the media is paid to write a ton of garbage for slop hypesters, not rejection of slop), and KDE neon seems to have turned into a banana.
KDE works not only on Linux, which is becoming slop-ware.
I've been a KDE user for over 26 years. I still use it almost exclusively, as does my wife. █
