Remind me how this is relevant to the website at all? Why do you always have these links on the blog? How is 'Pretty cool plasma stuff' relevant to boycotting Novell again? Why are they not on another blog somewhere else where they would actually be useful?

Francis is with OpenSUSE, Victor, so he's just taking the piss, so to speak. I post these links because they are noteworthy and they get no mention in standalone posts. Among the reading list of interest, these are the links worth highlighting. I don't see people complaining about Groklaw News Picks.

No, Roy, that was a genuine question. They are not noteworthy in relation to this website (or perhaps you could explain how they are?). I'm actually not trying to be negative here at all, but rather positive -- I really think it would be nice to have these in an appropriate place, as I'm sure they could be useful. On here though they seem a little spammy.

Groklaw's 'News Picks' don't appear in the main feed of the website.

If I could separate that, along with the Saturday posts in fact, I would. The CMS makes it far from simple. I added a top bar to sort of facilitate this, but the CMS is still blogging software, not a content manager. Originally I wanted to weave news like the gadget on the sidebar (Free Software Daily). But that's iframe-based. I've been wanting to do this since 2006.
