  A little honesty goes a long way. The Dow is up slightly. NASDAQ which many tech companies are part of except for Redhat is down. For those who really care, Redhat is below $11 a share. Their cap is getting close to dropping below 2 billion. This seems to be Roy's line of failure. He made a big deal about Novell's cap dropping below 2 billion. I would venture to guess you won't hear much if RH's cap drops below 2. You won't hear anything about that on this site but for those who want to know just go to http://finance.google.com and look for yourself.

  Gosh, Josh you should look at the bigger picture before you venture off topic and call someone a liar. If I'd bought Red hat at $5/share in 2003, I'd have doubled my money. The same thing might be said for Novell if you bought in at their all time lows then, but you have to feel sad for anyone who bought into them at any other time and did not sell on periods of irrational exuberance. Making money that way is called gambling. The Red Hat way is called investing. Other companies with reasonable long term growth histories and prospects include Google, IBM, and Apple. It's neat how companies with products people want look like good investments, isn't it?
  
  The current market collapse, bought to you by 30 years of deregulated madness and greed, might bring down everyone. That would suck but companies that don't rely on brain wash levels of advertising are in a better position to succeed. Who knows, with M$ gone, Novell might survive to become a reputable GNU/Linux player. If they keep playing patent games, they are primed to become the next SCO, slaughtered in the service of M$. Here's looking at the brighter future.

  Just posting the news, don't know what to make of it: Microsoft: downturn? what downturn? http://www.itwire.com/content/view/21420/53/ While the world battens down the hatches for what financial experts believe will be the mother of all recessions, Microsoft simply shrugs and posts solid results for the September quarter. Can the software behemoth continue to grow in the current climate? At least one analyst says yes.
