Had similar screen corruption on redhat 10 when I tried using compiz. Wasn't really an issue, although some other bug meant over time the system got slower and slower, so I stopped using it. I wasn't fond of burning my legs either.

That said, iirc, past Michael comments have typically taken your side, so perhaps I shouldn't be pointing this out. Afterall, after your childish attacks on him, perhaps he'd be more inclined to agree with Alex, Jo, G. Michaels and myself?
