Summary: Some new Novell videos about old products that are being destroyed under Attachmate's reign, giving more business to Microsoft
WE HAVE clearly fallen behind when it comes to covering Novell, but then again, nothing major has happened except the recent conference. Novell's accounts uploads some more videos to YouTube, including this one which was viewed more than the rest:
"We finally converted 50 Terabytes and 44,000 users off of Novell Netware onto Windows," says the video description. "This was our official Novell media burning celebration" (tough going).
Let's face it. Novell is not going to see any resurgence. Attachmate's job is to squeeze out what's left of it. ⬆

For being a "doctor" you sure seem quite uneducated. No major new releases of GW? How so? There's a major new release slated for this year (GW 2012), another release for next year (codename Cardiff), and yet another for either the end of next year or beginning of 2013 (codename Windermere).
And just how is Vibe a dead product? Vibe, Novell's answer to SharePoint, has plenty of development and is continuously being updated. There are more and more integrations between Vibe and GW, especially in GW 2012.
Oh, and going back to major new releases, a brand new product was announced at Brainshare: Novell FILR. This looks like a great way of moving file sharing into the social networking age. Plus there are already discussions on just how to possibly integrate FILR with Vibe.
Let us not forget OES11 is also due out before the end of the year, and the next update for ZCM 11 is due out at the beginning of next year.
Attachmate isn't just squeezing cash out of a dying Novell. They are pumping dollars and resources into it. They're bringing on more developer resources even right in Provo, and they're beefing up the sales force. There is definitely a resurgence going on right now in Novell. It's just a matter of whether you choose to pretend it exists or not.

Dude, did you even go to BrainShare? Grab a clue, or ask for a refund from you educational institution, because you've missed the point here.
There's a lot of new coming out of Novell, new products have been announced, new releases are coming, and even better yet, there's a means to do an in-place upgrade from NetWare to OES 11. Filr is something I've been dreaming of for a few years (why is it that MD's and prof's want to hang on to everything?) to fill a gap for many of my customers.
There are many Arch derivatives that do not rely on "viral" marketing in MElon's child porn-pushing social control media and are instead relying on real development, not slop
