pple is trying to claim ownership of the appearance of a person, based on
this recent article. The hype-selling company
also attacks Linux over the false allegation that Android is a copy (even though it predates the iPhone). SJVN insists that Apple does not have a good case against Android:
While Apple has been attacking Android smartphone and tablet vendors in the courts around the world, I don’t see any reason to think, as Whitmore does, that Apple will be able to slam dung their way to victory. Indeed, Apple’s number one smartphone rival, Samsung, expects record profits despite Apple’s lawsuit attacks from Germany to Australia and back again.
We urged people to boycott Apple for this. There are other reasons to boycott this delusional cult,
which engages in extortion just like Microsoft and at least gets sued for it:

Tablet maker Nuevas Tecnologías y Energías Catalá, the company behind one of Apple's rare court defeats, is now taking the fruity tech titan to court for extortion.
Apple alleged that the teeny-tiny company's tablet, sold in Spain under the NT-K brand, was a forged iPad, and on that basis convinced custom officials to impound shipments of the rival gear coming into Spain. Those shipments ended up sitting in a warehouse for a year, costing NT-K dearly, and now it wants to see Apple hauled up for extortion as well as recovering some damages.

Apple closed its flagship store in Beijing after frustrated fanbois rioted and pelted the windows with eggs when they were told the shop didn't have the iPhone 4S.
A crowd of 500 people waited outside the Sanlitun Apple store in Beijing yesterday morning for the Chinese launch of the iPhone 4S, and the mood turned ugly when they were told by staff that the shiny shop didn't have the new mobe and wouldn't be opening that day.
Many had waited overnight in temperatures that dropped to -9€°C. The frustrated Apple fans started hassling security guards and throwing eggs at the windows of the store in the high-end mall before they were cleared off by the police.
According to
Reg Hardware Awards 2011 (just released), Apple iPhone 4S is "the most disliked offering in the Mobile category" whereas
the winner ("Smartphone of the Year") if the Linux-based Samsung Galaxy S II. Apple just cannot keep up, can it? It's no excuse for frivolous litigation.

FUD: Challenge time for Roy! Show *one* Android device that was largely like the iPhone but predates it. One. It can even be a demo unit.

But you will fold. Your claim is an out and out lie. It is absurd to say that merely because there was a product called Android that existed before the iPhone was released that the current Android is not copying Apple. The fact you feel the need to twist logic so much shows how little faith you have in the facts.
FUD: More of Roy's "cult" claims. Utter nonsense.
Roy completely misses how Apple has earned such high user satisfaction ratings and is so large of a company... nothing to do with any cult but a lot to do with Apple making great products that serve people well. Stallman and the "Free" cult, however, is completely hypocritical and based on philosophical / quasi-religious underpinnings which is much, much more cult like.
Here: quick test for you Roy (another you will run from). Two questions:
Question 1)
Name some products or services from Apple which have failed. If you can, then Apple users are clearly not buying items for "cult" reasons but for the value they see in them. What? No link? No evidence? Nothing which Richard Stallman supports is rejected by his followers? Ever? Maybe you can find examples of him supporting changes to the holy scriptures (the GPL, say v3) where there is some dissent. Yeah, religious people do not like their holy scriptures to be altered.
But an actual end user product or service - not a license - that Stallman has accepted and his followers have rejected.
And your BS about cults just came tumbling down on your head. You are merely projecting, Roy, when you see others as you and your cult are.

What I did was asked you to back your claim of "cult"... which you cannot. *That* is an ad hominem attack - from you. There is no Mac "cult"... or if there is, it consists of only a small percentage of users of Apple products. I know, for example, I do not like all Apple products nor all acts by Apple.
Can you say the same about Stallman? Can you say you disapprove of some of his actions or some of his comments? If so, which ones? And it is not like he has not put his foot in his mouth (figuratively... let's forget about the literal reading of that!) on many occasions.
But if you think I am wrong, Roy, stand up and back it. I would love to be on your show and discuss this with you: between those who back the FSF and those who use Apple products who is more cult-like. Let's use evidence and data and reason to speak about this.
No ad hominem attacks. No name calling. Just data and questions about people in both "camps". Heck, given how I both appreciate at least some Apple products *and* am a big supporter of OSS, maybe you can say I am in both "camps" (though, while I like the GPL, I am *not* a fan of the FSF!)
