Bonum Certa Men Certa

Lots of Information in Sight, But Minimal Distraction

Summary: How I keep focused on reading and writing whilst at the same time keeping an eye on important incidents, such as DDOS attacks and urgent messages coming in

THE setup around here is a lot cheaper than it may seem. The machines aren't expensive, there's only one production/primary machine, and it's managed with Synergy/Barrier. In this video I explain how having many monitors and low-cost/old laptops can help boost productivity, reduce distraction (no need to move between virtual desktops all that much), and monitor important things in such a way that incidents enter the field of vision.

"In this video I explain how having many monitors and low-cost/old laptops can help boost productivity, reduce distraction (no need to move between virtual desktops all that much), and monitor important things in such a way that incidents enter the field of vision."As a little background information, I first started using dual-head setups (laptop and external display) when I was 19, that turned into 3 (external old machine) 10 years later, and in recent years that grew upwards to 7. Second-hand monitors can be very cheap and the cost of electricity isn't too high for today's thin displays (my last CRT was retired about 5 years ago, due to age).
