THERE are more and more stories in the 'blogosphere' about people quitting Twitter. We saw several such stories in GNU/Linux sites so far this weekend, including from Ariadne (Gemini link via proxy).

Some move to alternatives, which are still social control media. Based on my own experience, all of these sites are outside one's own control; self-hosting them for control is far from simple and can become extremely time-consuming, so we've consistently suggested quitting all social control media (altogether).
