      • Illegalism

Crime: an act in violation of the law. Whether the act is a conscious defiance of morals and authority, or the realization of frustrated desires, the criminal rejects the acceptable roles offered him or her in favor of creating a new self-defined one. Though this doesn’t always lead to a rejection of the dominant forces of the society involved, rampant and blatant disregard of the law is a sign of a society in deterioration and usually leads to a complete breakdown of the social order. When a society is dependent upon the exploitation and subjugation of its citizens, the subversion of the social order by the defiant actions of those same people against the forces of law and order offers them their purely symbolic civil disobedience nor black market sub-economies threatened the status quo. Civil disobedience merely reinforces the roles of rulers and ruled, while black markets need the continued existence of the state to limit competition and provide the infrastructure which supports both above and underground economics — mainly currency. Rather than military conflict with the nation/states or rampant terroristic campaigns against the “enemy” population, people who wish to create a revolutionary situation according to the realization of an expansive libratory existence would take into consideration the example of the illegalists.

      • What is Ideology?

There certainly can be genuine confusions over the meaning of the word ideology since the word has been used for many purposes entailing quite different meanings. However, when I (and other anti-ideological anarchists) criticize ideology, it is **always** from a specifically critical, anarchist perspective rooted in both the skeptical individualist-anarchist philosophy of Max Stirner (especially his master work, translated into English as **The Ego and Its Own**) and the Marxist conception of ideology, especially as it was developed by members of the Frankfurt School (Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno and others) in their version of critical theory.

Although Stirner did not use the word “ideology”, he developed a fundamentally important critique of alienation which crucially encompasses a critique of alienated and alienating theory. For Stirner theory can either be employed to express the subjective aims of its creator or it can be allowed to subordinate and control the person employing it. In the frst instance theory facilitates the fulfillment of one’s most important desires, assisting people in analyzing and clarifying their aims, the relative importance of particular aims and desires, and the best means for achieving the overall configuration of projects that is one’s life in the world. The alternative (what has now most often come to be called “ideological”) use of theory involves the adoption of theories constructed around abstract, externally-conceived subjectivities (god, state, capital, anarchism, primitivism, etc.) to which one feels in some way obliged to subordinate her or his own aims, desires and life.

      • Anarchism — Nudism, Naturism

Anarchism and the different Naturist views have always been related. This relationship was quite important at the end of the 1920s. The linking role played by the ‘Sol y Vida’ group was very important . The goal of this group was to take trips and enjoy the open air. The Naturist athenaeum, ‘Ecléctico’, in Barcelona, was the base from which the activities of the group were launched. First ‘Etica’ and then ‘Iniciales’, which began in 1929, were the publications of the group, which lasted until the Spanish Civil War. We must be aware that the naturist ideas expressed in them matched the desires that the libertarian youth had of breaking up with the conventions of the bourgeoisie of the time. That is what a young worker explained in a letter to ‘Iniciales’ He writes it under the odd pseudonym of ‘silvestre del campo’, (wild man in the country). “I find great pleasure in being naked in the woods, bathed in light and air, two natural elements we cannot do without. By shunning the humble garment of an exploited person, (garments which, in my opinion, are the result of all the laws devised to make our lives bitter), we feel there no others left but just the natural laws. Clothes mean slavery for some and tyranny for others. Only the naked man who rebels against all norms, stands for anarchism, devoid of the prejudices of outfit imposed by our money-oriented society.”

      • I switched to AwesomeWM

A few month ago an update of Artix Linux broke my QTile setup on my laptop and on my desktop. I couldn't get the slightest clue what was wrong and even a reinstall didn't fix the problem which was suggested on some forum. QTile is written in python. I didn't worry about it in the past, but as some of you might know: python breaks.

On my journey for a new window manager I tried AwesomeWM for the first time. And I liked it right from the beginning! I'm not very good at desktop ricing and this surely isn't something for r/unixporn but here's a screenshot...

      • New DNS Docs

Some notes on how DNS works and also how to setup a minimal authoritative DNS server on OpenBSD, just enough to be dangerous.

      • Orc camp mechanics

Both Springmill and Poleveney are small hamlets with 10–40 humans.

So first, about these traps. I said: In the middle of this forest between Springmill and Hillmarva lies the orc camp of Muzdoc, on a small rise, surrounded by a hedge maze of junipers. Narrow trails lead through the junipers up to the gate. What I didn't say was that this approach was protected by the spiked pit traps.

The party wanted to ambush some orcs so I asked them if any party members had experience as hunters or monster hunters. Yes, two of the elves have no background, yet, so their player said one of them was a monster tracker who had wanted to see some more adventure and do some actual hunting. Sure, I said. Anaya knows how the deer travel through the forest, where they like to cross the stream, where one would lie down to hunt deer. And so the party decided to lie in wait a bit further up.
