The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

As you wanted to hear from us, here are my two cents:

 * The BASE idea drives me up the wall. It implies that some extras are
missing (base vs deluxe), it implies that we thing others can't do their
job (ok, that has been toned down), it is capitalized, it is pretensious.
   I just don't like it.

 * Debian Linux is what I like. We are already known, to some extent, as
Debian. Lots of people have heard about us, albeit only mouth-to-ear or
rumourwise. We have to fill this void *now*. If we rename ourselves, we
only create another void. So please: let's drop this debase et al stuff.

Our product is great. We do good work. We are free. We are an open system.
Let's keep it that way and let's not get stuck in silly pseudo-politics.
