The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Security problem - race condition in ncpmount

This is my second attempt to send an e-mail about this to debian-private -
sorry if you get this twice:

I'm afraid I don't currently have enough time to keep up with my debian
commitments. I still occasionally look at some of debian-devel, but I
don't have time to do much else.

I intend to catch up in a few weeks time, but until then I would
appreciate it if somebody could look after any urgent problems with my
packages, e2fsprogs, ncpfs, ipx and umsdos.

I'm sending this message now because I recently checked the linux-security
list, and read a message from David Holland regarding a race condition in
the ncpmount program, which is setuid root. Exploitation _might_ lead to
a root comprimise, so I would appreciate it if somebody could upload an
update of the ncpfs package, with the setuid bits removed, and maybe a
message could be sent to debian-user with the same instruction, ( chmod
u-s /usr/bin/ncp{u,}mount ).

I haven't had enough time to look into this in detail, so I'm not sure
about any of this.

I've already modified the source, and created a ncpfs_0.23-2.tar.gz in my
home directory on master, but I don't have root access to a networked
linux machine at the mo, so I can't build the ".deb" archive.

Feel free to e-mail me for further details if you need them.

Please Cc me on any list reply,

Thanks,

Michael.
