The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Speaking as someone who runs such a gateway on a small scale, I think
this would be a shame.

Not because I personally would be inconvenienced - after all, I have
an access control mechanism on my news server and could continue to
read the lists as news without distributing them publicly.

No, I think it would be a bad idea because accessibility and openness
are good for the project.  Many people can and do read the debian-*
lists as news who wouldn't read them at all if they were only
available as hard-to-deal-with mail, and not everyone has access to a
private gateway.
