The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

I see 2 problems with this:

1/ I don't like the idea very much to have a "custom debian kernel".
Imagine a user recompiles his kernel himself; How will he access /usr/doc
then?

2/ This patch applies compression to a whole filesystem, not a single
directory. and I don't like the idea of making a special /usr/doc
partition because I don't want to see all my system compressed.
Also Remy Card told this compression feature should be available on a per
directory base for 2.2.

trying to be positive and suppose I want to use this option:

1/ I'll have to make a new /usr/doc partition, 'cos I don't want my /usr/bin
to be compressed (my computer is slow enough)

2/ I'll have to insert this compression patch in every 2.1 kernel I use.
(BTW, what happen if one day it doesn't patch anymore?)

3/ Will not bring me more than 10Mo of free space. (1% of my disk space)

Given these restrictions, I doubt many users will be interested.
