The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

The continuing crypto certification issue

The BoD is for electing officers and not for technical project decisions.
We will continue to use our well-tested decision process of following the
developer consensus whenever possible. As president, I continue to have
"fiat power" over Debian project technical decisions, as before.

I don't think we can use just one method, as some people seem to be
very suspicious of the certifying authority process. For example there's
at least one board member who refuses to give out his social security
number (which is his right in the US).

So, for those who are OK with going through the CA procedure, I will
ask them to please go through it with Thawte, or get a certificate from
another cerifiying authority of the same grade or better than the "Basic"
certificate from Thawte.

For those who refuse to go through the CA procedure, I will arrange
for someone who has gone through it and is local to them to contact them
and make a reasonable determination that they are who they say they are,
using known third parties to vouch for them if necessary.

	Thanks

	Bruce
