The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

I agree with Vincent here, and would go a bit further and say that I think
that the confusion over contrib vs non-free would have been easier to
resolve if these dependencies were more specifically called out in the
Guide.

Mainly:

	1. Software is not free that depends for its operation on a piece
	   of non-free software.

	2. Software is not free if it requires non-free software for its
	   construction.

These two concepts have always been part of the criterion for packages in
main, in the form: Any package in main must be able to be built and run
using only those packages found in main. Understanding this would help
reduce the discussion on source dependencies as well.

With these two items in the DFSG it would be very clear why contrib is not
any more free than non-free.

Luck,

Dwarf
