The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

release numbering change decision

Guy,

When you are ready to make the next point release, please go ahead and
make it, and make this _one_small_ change to the way you currently do
releases. The result should be called "Debian-1.3.1-r1", and
and its name in English will be "Debian 1.3.1 Revision 1". I think this
indicates sufficiently that the changes incorporated in a point release
are small, and avoids the problem of slipstream releases or any addition
to your work load. Once 2.0 comes out, we will go to two digits plus
revision rather than three digits plus revision.

Given the sentiments of the developers, this is how far I am willing
to go at this time for manufacturers who need stability. Hopefully
the people who are planning products incorporating Debian will be ready
to _talk_about_them_ soon, so that the developers can judge properly what
should be done to accomodate them. I am in the uncomfortable position
of having to accomodate their needs without informing you about their
projects at this time.
