The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

Maintainer Database

Hi,
Posted on behalf of Lindsay Allen <allen@cleo.murdoch.edu.au>,
Please reply to him directly. (I am involved peripherally in this
effort, contributing a few Perl scripts etc. [I did draft the
 licence, though ;-])

Hello,

I recently sent email direct to all known maintainers (some 200) seeking
some data re your email address and position coordinates for inclusion in
a database. Nearly half have replied and this message is aimed at the
other half. My thanks to those who have sent me data - please read no
further.

This is the start of a project to build up a database of information
about developers. I seek both:-
* information about you
* your permission to distribute it in a public place.

The results will be placed first into an xearth map and subsequently
into a database to be made available to all maintainers and possibly to
the public. Give some thought as to whether or not you are prepared to
make the answers public and indicate your decision below. If you do not
permit public release the only information made public will be that which
is already available publicly.

A check on email addresses in the pgp keyring file showed that some
mmaintainers have multiple addresses (up to 10) so please pick the
most official address.

An example is always helpful, so this is the sort of thing I am after:
---------------------------------------------------------------
Maintainer: firstname lastname
Email: dummy@test.org
City: LinCity
Country: Freeciv
Latitude: 30.7N
Longitude: 88.1W
Home page url: rolf.ece.curtin.edu.au/~lindsay
-------------------------------------------------------------

NB:

* Coordinates are given as N,S,E,W rather than as + or -.
This prevents confusion. (xearth uses - as West rather than East)

* Xearth requires decimal degrees so please use these.
                   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
* Your answer will be parsed by a perl script, so please stick strictly
                       ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
to the format. Place any comments such as "don't know" or "please
use the previous xearth data" outside the markers. If you do not
have valid data leave it blank.

Now for your answers, please:-
###

How can we redistribute the information about your location:
[ ] Please consider this GPL
###

The reference to GPL above (which remains for hysterical
reason, and I don't want to massage my working perl script) is a
shorthand notation to convey the following sentiments (we have a
largish Licence in lawyereze too which I won't bore the list with)
        o) The data will be freely available.
        o) People would not be able to use it for commercial purposes
(including but not limited to spam).
        o) Only copying fees maybe charged for it (can't sell lists of
           email addresses.)
        o) The data may not be modified. (It maybe reformatted for
preinting, or, say, converted to degrees and seconds for
           other programs, but not changed.)

If you have any queries mail me privately. If there is anything that
calls for discussion I suggest using debian-private but please use a
different Subject line from that on this message so that my procmail
knows the difference.
