The debian-private mailing list leak, part 1. Volunteers have complained about Blackmail. Lynchings. Character assassination. Defamation. Cyberbullying. Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. The former DPL's girlfriend Molly de Blanc is given volunteers to experiment on for her crazy talks. These volunteers never consented to be used like lab rats. We don't either. debian-private can no longer be a safe space for the cabal. Let these monsters have nowhere to hide. Volunteers are not disposable. We stand with the victims.

I understand this and I agree with this policy 100%.

What I am concerned about is somebody debugging a setuid program.
Sometimes, these programs can be difficult to run under a debugger and
the core file may be very useful. Sometimes, the bug may revolve
around an obscure conflict with permissions. (One setuid program I
wrote switches back and forth between two uids, and a debugger can be
helpful there.) This is why I say there should be an option to get
core dumps in these situations for people that need them.

Better: Fix the library so that the memory is wiped after a lookup in
the shadow password table.
