Volunteers who gave many years of their lives are picked out at random for cruel social experiments. inetd serious problem

There is a major problem with inetd in Debian Release 1.3.1. One could
remotely
cause the inetd to die, which will disable telnet, pop3, ftp, maybe mail
service.
If you have no ssh installed you will have a problem after this, if you
have no physical
access to the machine...

In phrack51 was a advanced portscan utility named nmap. This has a
"stealth-scan"
mode, which will only sent a SYN and after that a RST to the machine.
For some
reasons this stealth-scan causes the inetd to die, at least at my
system.
