The Business Software Alliance (BSA) represents the interests of founding and maintaining members, to whom the BSA is a collective front. The BSA encapsulates (or encapsulated) workers of William Gates Sr. and it is seen lobbying for software patents in Europe, among other Microsoft interests. It is generally hostile towards Free software, which competes directly against its clients/funding sources.
