Marketing for Microsoft Linux

Summary: Gold Microsoft certified partner Attachmate has new strategy for earning free labour, benefiting two proprietary software companies (Attachmate and Microsoft) under the guise of "open" and "community"

YESTERDAY we spotted Attachmate/SUSE's latest plea for free labour benefiting Microsoft Linux. We urge people not to fall for it.

SUSE is all about putting Microsoft in charge. This is why Microsoft funnels money into the project and now that they have a release condidate out, they wish to have a bunch of peons to report bugs. The company is meanwhile working to refine its marketing so as to attact more suckers to give away their time to the wrong community. From this new post: "Friday 16.09, while working on the openSUSE 12.1 marketing actions during the Marketing Hackfest, two of us had the spontaneous idea to suggest an interview to Michael Miller(Vice President of Global Alliances & Marketing for SUSE), asking him a few questions we could have in the openSUSE community. We did not have the time to go around, to find the FAQ or to choose the “best questions”. It was kind of “shall we do that, around a cup of coffee ? Why not ?”. And Michael Miller accepted our proposition, without any objection or any “joker’s need”."

Real proponents of GNU/Linux oughtn't help Microsoft's recommended version of GNU/Linux, which is also taxed by Microsoft. There are many projects more worthy of volunteer effort. These projects are not coordiated by people's on Microsoft payroll, either (indirectly).
