I, too, have attempted to contact both HP and Microsoft to ascertain the reasonable and non-discriminatory licensing details regarding creating a Free implementation of ECMA 334 & 335.

Sam seems to have more headway (and visibility), perhaps he can finally get to the bottom of all the FUD one way or the other.
