See this. A secondary accumulation is this or this.

Someone should coin the term “Goebbelsian Patching”.

The remote vulnerability is interesting. M$ apparently plans to leave it open until some months in the future. I wonder how they will try to spin or misrepresent the patch time?

Two weeks ago the issued a patch for a problem made public two years ago. Also recently they issued a patch for another problem made public over 7 years ago. Some of those patches don’t actually fix the problem. How will they fit into M$ fake patching metrics?

Anyway, there is a remote vulnerability present in the current Windows Vista kernel, which will remain accessible at least until the next service pack (which is a long way off)

It’s not the first nor the last.

Windows Vista is full of holes. For security go with RHEL, ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, OpenBSD, Slackware, or just about anything except Windows.
