Speaking of search, it sounds like Mono is to Novel as Bing is to Microsoft: something massively pushed by a specific group, yet not really filling a need that was lacking nor providing an enhancement over an existing service or product., and failing so far to gain any real traction.

Is it me or is Mono actually completely useless?

* Approximately no-one on .NET uses it – anyone developing in .NET just hosts on Windows.
* There are zero compelling Unix server apps in Mono.
* There are a few desktop Unix apps in Mono, all of which are toys and all of which are widely derided as fat and slow.
* People wanting this sort of thing on Unix use Java, which has approximately nothing on the desktop but completely owns the server for commercial production use.

SQL or SEQUEL was developed by IBM in 1974.

Which is an RDBMS, or Relational Database management system.

It’s not FOSS, and was not developed by FOSS, and was developed well before FOSS ever existed. So who is copying who here ?
