PR Watch is a site that I read regularly and trust. The other one may be naturally biased, so pluralism of sources would be handy (giving one the right to defend self).

That’s a reasonable question. I’ll look tomorrow and just you a personal email, if I find one. On the other hand, I’m not sure that given Berman’s defence of alcohol, tobacco, and tanning that he’ll get many defenders. There is the heavy hand of political correctness. Even I strongly oppose the tobacco and tanning industries, but I do see that there is a need to make a counter argument–just as in a trial we have a lawyer for the defence. Furthermore, I’m glad that Berman defended alcohol as I like some from time to time. For that matter, I’m happy when people defend marijuana, though I don’t use it. People and our animal brothers and sisters all seem to want a little better living through chemistry now and then.

I strongly disagree with the worldview that Roy is peddling. Many of Rick Berman’s causes are entirely decent and reasonably causes and it’s sad that Berman’s son is such a leftist loon. For example, one thing that Berman is fight for is secret ballot elections in union organizing. The reason for secret ballots in elections has always to curb corruption and intimidation. I could go through the rest of Berman’s causes and either agree with them or point out why someone else could agree with them–without that person being in it for the money.
