They’ve been known to push projects that they have an interest in, or have been working on, rather than simply reporting Ubuntu news.

However, I think you’ve failed to understand that OMGUbuntu is not trying to be an unbiased source of Ubuntu news. It’s really quite obvious from the way in which they report news, upcoming releases of applications and the general tone of their articles. They’re purposefully unprofessional in their “reporting” and they talk about things that they like.

I don’t see why you’re holding that against them. There are enough Ubuntu/Linux news sites that are professional and unbiased out there. Why can’t we have one that’s relaxed and friendly?
