This allows Apple and Google to push out updates after the device has been purchased. However, I doubt that Microsoft put such capabilities into their Vista Phone 7, and I doubt any hardware manufacturer would enable it if they did since Microsoft has a bad history on updates being very hard to install properly – even on Desktops, Laptops, and Servers where the majority of their brain power is located. So the fact that it is not 100% equivalent of what everyone else has on the market also means that it is thus doomed to fail, since by the time they get equivalence of today there will be more for them to do.
