As if Windows’ megalithic architecture wasn’t bad enough in how it guarantees insecurity and unreliability, their Metro experiment could not have come at a worse time. Now, the Applesoft duopoly absolutely cannot afford to motivate users to look elsewhere, particularly a more by the day are moving to FOSS, which is performance-driven, unlike Applesoft. This also highlights the benefits of user-oriented FOSS over Applesoft’s toy operating systems, especially in light of Ububntu’s Unity. Changing user interfaces in ridiculously easy for us, but impossible beyond trivial tweaks for the walled gardens.

The verge link is broken, not that anyone is missing much.

Vista 8 overall sounds like a complete pigs breakfast of a mess, but then again so does unity or gnome desktop these days.

MS is doing nothing to save Vista 8. Nothing at all. They have no product with that name.
