schestowitzMinceR: what's  btmp for?Jul 18 18:45
schestowitzwhat's the "b"?Jul 18 18:45
schestowitzA long-term solution to space issues on a server is required as clearing up yum cache only provides temporary remedy. I was about to compress some spurious files. It is not so obvious, however, what could be compress to yield much free space. In /var/tmp and its sub-directories there are not many large log files, except btmp (and the subdris below), which is also not so large and was last updated several hours ago. Jul 18 18:45
schestowitzIs anything there safely compressible? btmp does what exactly?Jul 18 18:46

schestowitzto shift them to where it hurts...Jul 18 20:23
schestowitzand then to cover patent issues, trolls and their pR tactics...Jul 18 20:23
schestowitzIt's natually also going to get you more attentionJul 18 20:23
schestowitzbecause it hits the trolls in the right spot, the Achilles HeelJul 18 20:24
schestowitzif I spent time just fighting junk claims like "Linux is hard", I would call it quitsJul 18 20:24
