schestowitzMySQL is mostly used on the Web, but with SaaS gaining momentum a lot of enterprise software now uses mysql+variants or postgres. I think Oracle is just clinging onto old stuff and buying PeopleSoft et al. to suppress adoption of FOSS enterprise software. There are enough PHBs left to buy overpriced software and Oracle too is said to bribe governments, IIRC. Microsoft supports Oracle's lawsuit against Android. Many of the Mar 23 10:14

schestowitzI installed it two days ago on my Nexus 7 running Plasma Active. They haven't packaged it yet for arm7l mer, so I had to compile it myself. I was downloading dependencies for about an hour ;) but it eventually compiled after I made a small change to the source code. It runs smooth, the buttons are large enough for touchscreen usage (even on 7") and it even integrates into Plasma Active's content sharing system. It is now my Mar 23 17:29
schestowitzfavourite mediaplayer on the tablet.Mar 23 17:29
schestowitzThough there are some things that don't work. Some may be because of missing dependencies, like the missing video preview which is caused by me not having ffmpeg libraries. Sadly, videos don't play at all, even though it'll play the first two seconds of some of them.Mar 23 17:29
schestowitzConnecting to Picasa works. It'll show all my photo albums on there. But when I open them, they appear empty (which they aren't). Also accessing media on Webdav and Samba shares doesn't work - it will list the content but not play it.Mar 23 17:29
schestowitzAlso there are some features I miss: I can't find an option to add an entire folder or even just an album to the playlist and there is no pinch-to-zoom in the image viewer.Mar 23 17:29
schestowitzI really hope that it will be delivered with Plasma Active 4 images as it's way better than all the media players/accessing tools they're delivering right now and would be even better if everything worked (which I assume would if they compiled it properly).Mar 23 17:29
