schestowitz I'd like to continue this conversation about DDG but do not seem to be able to comment there. I did not know about DDG's TOR service and would like to know more. How is what DDG does with TOR different from me visiting any other site using TOR? If DDG really was a honeypot, wouldn't they try to run as many exit nodes as they could to out users?Feb 23 08:54
schestowitzWhy should I care what DDG does with cookies when they have been accused of sending IP addresses to advertisers?Feb 23 08:54
schestowitzThere are plenty of things I think DDG could do. The first is to tell people to get rid of Windows and other non free software. No real privacy is possible without that. They can also, of course, quit passing on IP addresses to advertisers, drop Microsoft's dishonest search results, and be more forthcoming with the way they decide what results to give users and quit acting like an official part of the Scroogled campaign. Without thoseFeb 23 08:54
schestowitzchanges, I'm unable to trust them.Feb 23 08:54
schestowitzDr. Roy Schestowitz (罗伊) might also be interested in this conversation.Feb 23 08:54

schestowitz> Hi, Roy,Feb 25 20:50

schestowitz> I notice that there are no real icons for TM, but that it uses fullFeb 25 20:50

schestowitz> Also, xubuntu and lubuntu use a space invader to stand for games.  MaybeFeb 25 20:51
schestowitz> TM could do that, too.Feb 25 20:51
schestowitzOriginally, these images which I tested after careful selection were in various sized, up to about 600 by 600. I also had much larger icons in the site, about 150x150, but then people opposed it so I made it 100x100 or so (scaling with aspect ratio maintained).Feb 25 20:51
schestowitzLast week I finally resized them, not to 100 by 100 but a little more. I wrote an ImageMagick script to do this and kept the originals in a spearate directory.Feb 25 20:51
schestowitzInterpolation in resizing is a real issue, especially in some browsers. Maybe the next stage would be to fix the size, once I'm sure what it should be exactly (need to test how it's laid out in more phones and such).Feb 25 20:51
schestowitzTraffic in Tux Machines is quickly growing by the week. Let's hope this can continue for years. Right now there's an increase of almost 10% per week (since thr server migration).Feb 25 20:51

schestowitz128 pixels high or wide is possible, but some images are rectangular. In retrospect, I should have really resized them all to begin with. I just wan't sure about what  size would work.Feb 26 13:16

schestowitz I'd like to continue this conversation about DDG but do not seem to be able to comment there.
They can also, of course, quit passing on IP addresses to advertisers, drop Microsoft's dishonest search results, and be more forthcoming with the way they decide what results to give users and quit acting like an official part of the Scroogled campaign. schestowitz> Hi, Roy,Feb 25 20:51

schestowitz> I notice that there are no real icons for TM, but that it uses fullFeb 25 20:51

schestowitz>Feb 25 20:51
schestowitz> Also, xubuntu and lubuntu use a space invader to stand for games.
