Gemini version available ♊︎Vista 8 a Downfall for Microsoft in Linux/Android Era, Microsoft Downgraded
Everything is under control!
Summary: Shifting trends in the industry are seen, with even Microsoft employees no longer using Microsoft software
WITH INCREASED demand for tablets, Android/Linux and hypePads gain traction, largely at the expense of Microsoft when it comes to new-generation tablets (with strong processors, a lot of RAM, high-resolution displays, etc.), so this news is quite telling:
-
Morgan Stanley downgrades Microsoft over Win 8, PC market concerns (hat tip: Pogson)
Concerns over Windows 8 sales and over the PC market dynamics have prompted Morgan Stanley to downgrade its recommendation on Microsoft’s stock.
Morgan Stanley, which previously rated the stock as Overweight, the equivalent of a “buy” recommendation, has now lowered it to Equal Weight, the equivalent of a “hold” recommendation. Microsoft declined to comment on the report.
-
Microsoft Silicon Valley offices raided with only iPads stolen
-
‘No Microsoft products were reported stolen’
Robert X. Cringely wrote about Vista 8 this weekend. It seems like Microsoft is not part of the future; so we need to focus on Apple too. Microsoft is the next Novell. █

it amuses me that you are so biased and, as you have said, full of “envy” that you cannot even use the terms “Windows 8″ and “iPad” without flipping out a bit. You just cannot bring yourself to actually say – or at least type – those names. The fear you have of them doing well is staggering.

Roy, after years of seeing the consumer market basically struggle against the illegal and anticompetitive practices of Applesoft, it’s good to see that performance actually does matter. Applesoft may have been able to have fight off honest competition far longer than is justified, but they are now, finally, losing against substance and innovation.
