Linux outperforms Windows 11 when it comes to Intel Alder Lake CPUs

Users of Intels Alder Lake processors running Linux 5.16 are expected to enjoy a significant performance gain.

    [02:08] schestowitz

Due to a new scheduler in Windows 11, Intels 12th-Gen Core processors performed better than their Linux counterparts when they were first released in the third quarter of last year.

The Linux kernel has improved since Linux 5.16 was released, and as a consequence, the open-source operating system can now outperform Windows 11 on Alder Lake CPUs.

Linux beats Windows 11 when running on the best CPU from Intel

Intel's 12th Gen Alder Lake chips are some of the best CPUs on the market. It turns out that if you'd like to get the best performance out of the processors, you may want to give Linux a try. Linux recently received an update to version 5.16. According to benchmarks by Phoronix, that update pushes Linux above Windows 11 in several areas.
