That gave him the money to fund a project, originally under nonameyet.com, to make a desktop flavor of Debian that was easy enough for non-technical people to use instead of Windows. Fedora offer spins with various alternative desktops, such as KDE and Xfce. The teams have done a great job making these work, though theyve sometimes had a few rough edges that have made them difficult to recommend to people who want a just works distribution.

[16:07] schestowitz[TR2]Well start by saying that it now has a backported THP Shrinker from the upcoming Linux kernel 6.13, which allows hugepages to be split earlier, reducing memory usage when transparent_hugepages is set to always while preserving performance.
