[09:39] schestowitz[09:39] schestowitzOriginally I thought I knew the answer to this (uh, the dot at the end means the domain is fully qualified?). And thats true a fully qualified domain name is a domain with a . at the end!
[09:39] schestowitzBut that doesnt explain why dots at the end are useful or important.

[09:45] schestowitz[09:45] schestowitzIn this article, well explore the concept of smart storage, and why its so useful, and well share a few examples from the Arduino community from people who have built their own smart storage projects.

[09:45] schestowitz[09:46] schestowitzWere pleased to announce that as of today Arduino IDE 2.0 has moved to stable and is available for download. Since the launch of the Beta version back in Spring 2021, the feedback received from the active Arduino community has enabled us to focus on whats meaningful to the widest user-base. It carries a modern editor and provides a better overall user experience thanks to a responsive interface and [09:45] schestowitz faster compilation time.

[09:47] schestowitz[09:47] schestowitzAs the name implies, this is a xylophone that plays itself. Not only does that let it create beautiful melodies that few of us are capable of hammering out with our clumsy human hands, it can actually exceed the ability of even an accomplished xylophonist. It can strike up to four bars simultaneously, allowing for richer and more complex music than a person could play with only two hands. It works with [09:47] schestowitz standard MIDI files and therefore can play a huge range of existing MIDI music or anything new that a musician creates in real time or through other means such as AI generation that El Moutaouaffiq plans to experiment with.

[09:54] schestowitz[09:54] schestowitzWe are excited to announce our team will be traveling to Amsterdam for The Things Conference on September 22nd-23rd, where Arduino will be among select exhibitors.
[09:54] schestowitzThe Things Conference is the worlds largest conference about LoRaWAN, bringing together the industrys major players contributing to this technologys development in a two-day deep dive dedicated to making business operations smarter. This years edition will focus on the main topic of digital transformation as seen through the lens of LoRaWAN, of course!

[09:55] schestowitz[09:55] schestowitzHowever, we often see the odd company or organization trying to forward an unorthodox definition of the open source. Generally, their argument goes something like this: open is just an adjective, and source comes from source code, so open source just means source code you can read, right?
[09:55] schestowitzThis argument is wrong,2 but it usually conceals the speakers real motivations: they want a commercial monopoly over their project.3 Their real reason is I should be able to make money from open source, but you shouldnt. An argument for an unorthodox definition of open source from this perspective is a form of motivated reasoning.

[09:57] schestowitz[09:57] schestowitzThis left us with one clear path: trying to patch over the `ring` FFI code with pure Rust versions.
[09:57] schestowitzThe first waypoint on this journey was to figure out how `ring-compat` managed to get RISC-V support into `ring`. It turns out their trick only works for `ring` version 0.17.0 which is an unreleased, as-of-yet still in development version.
