schestowitz[TR2]Ohhhh yes, this one is legendary already. Everybody looking around like, “Wait ah… what is happening here?” She keep getting promotion one after another rapidly, like promotion automatically come every time she open email, even though everybody still cannot see exactly what is being delivered. But maybe no need deliver when you are top guy favorite, lah.Aug 23 01:31
schestowitz[TR2]Her taking over HI was basically corporate saying, “OK, we are done here.” They were throwing in the towel on this team. Honestly, her arrival already feel like official announcement of the team’s demise. Wah.Aug 23 01:31
schestowitz[TR2]BUT NO! Plot twist! Instead of asking any questions, she somehow get magically transported upward and promoted AGAIN! Wah, very efficient system—performance problem become promotion opportunity! Team left behind like after typhoon, picking up pieces, while she flying upstairs to collect another big title.Aug 23 01:31
schestowitz[TR2]Honestly, this no longer corporate promotion culture. This is professional-level comedy. If somebody write this as satire, people say too unrealistic. But Albany say, “Hold my tea.” Wah, cannot make this up already.Aug 23 01:31

schestowitz[TR2]Let me fix this for you. No jobs have been replaced by AI. The operative word here is "replaced" as it assumes a similar level of quality.Aug 23 01:40
schestowitz[TR2]Arvind's destruction of the helpdesk was a cut to service. He provided a chat bot as a sort of consolation prize despite the fact its own metrics showed it was not solving problems -- when they bothered to collect them. They relied on a lot on useless internal metrics that in the best case measured output, but not outcome. Those jobs were not replaced, they were simply eliminated. Remember Arvind's three word motto ended with the wAug 23 01:40
schestowitz[TR2]ords "eliminate". That's what he's done.Aug 23 01:40
schestowitz[TR2]In the final analysis, at IBM at least, "AI" has been nothing but cover for an unprecedented increase of outsourcing to India. There too they never show it has actually "replaced" the jobs of the original workers; they're simply occupying the same seats without regards to quality or outcome. Thanks to McKinsey that that's the IBM way.Aug 23 01:40

schestowitz[TR2]Disgusting place and idea that will gut the US workforce as companies having been doing now since the 60s and 70s => The large-scale outsourcing of U.S. jobs started in the 1960s and 1970s for factory work. It grew much faster in the 1980s and 1990s, and later expanded to office and tech jobs in the late 1990s and 2000sAug 23 01:40
schestowitz[TR2]The big reason we won WWII and the Cold War was that the US MADE THINGS LIKE NO OTHER COUNTRY. Huge manufacturing base. Most of those great blue collar jobs that provided a great middle class life for millions are gone. Already now in the Iran war we are struggling with supplies. It is an obvious and very serious issue since it is clear tens of thousands or millions of cheap drones will be key for future wars and China especially hAug 23 01:40
