I think it's one of three files, and basically a shell wrapped that likely resembles a great deal what runs the "merged" automated set. The list of feeds it is digesting, I think, is in Git.
[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	ATM, as I've already wasted about 3-5 hours trying to restore one keyboard (and mouse) for all PCs, I struggle to type in ytalk like I used to.
[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	It's another machine with a smaller, distant keyboard. In E-mail I can write down things faster.
[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	Last time I "cleaned" my RSS feeds was Friday morning. I'm in no rush to catch up, knowing that running back to the old method is missing a window of opportunity. Rianne already checks these feeds for important stories (where speed matters), so I think both TM and TR (the latter is a 'superset' of the TM links, as it goes beyond tech/FOSS) would benefit from a technical approach that a GUI like QuiteRSS can never provide. I'm going

[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	My main PC is mostly usable now. The files I lost were not important (like raw images, the more recent raw and original videos... not the ones uploaded at the end). I mostly prepared for this failure, but knew that upon a knockout I'd have a LOT of work to do. 3 years' work went into customising it. Anyway, it was time for disk and OS upgrade (disk space nearly doubled).
[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	PS - the tech layoffs, I think, may be a positive for TR for all sorts of reasons. The bubble's implosion was long in the making. 1.5 weeks before the witch-hunt Sirius lost a very important imminent client in the US, which fired ALL (about 2000) of its employees. The company, Sirius, didn't bother telling us. But I knew on the day. It was in techrights IRC before I even saw it in the news; Ryan posted a link.
[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	In IRC I was trying to accelerate my exit (before my birthday). I kept saying colleague of mine were lying, which was technically true. I was trying to get 'caught'.

[03:21]	schestowitz[TR]	PR - those 31 packs of protein shake? We're only about 1/3 of the way through. This is great for weight loss. We paid about 5% of the original price but cannot find the same on sale anymore (we checked twice).

[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	It'll massively reduce my very high typo rate and and be less cumbersome to read/write in the pull/push sense.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	I really like the python libraries in question. This reminds me of the 2005 efforts in USENET.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	GUIs are very rigid, I sometimes use the filter option to narrow down or pan/focus on particular theme, e.g. when there's a major new release people are covering. It'll be even easier with text editor, scripts, or hybrids like emacs.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	A script that turns OPML into a list or TM- and TR-style links (with or without excepts) would be very useful because it's easy to assess the outcome. rss-since with cutoff days accomplishes something similar, but a hybrid can help.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	In 2014 I experimented with such a thing, but the experiment did not last long. Then we started focusing on EPO and we moved house.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	I got my video pipeline done right (better audio, two cameras, more automation) and can consider revisiting that 2014 approach. Having vast lists of items is convenient because for many years I've 'mastered' the 'art' of clustering things on the fly. Any time saved can be reinvested into videos and articles.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	I will start doing extensive server backups if on Feb. 1st the fibre is installed as they promised. A day later we'll finish the Sirius series and I want to move on.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	PS - two ex-colleagues  (they left before me) are in contact. Might be another scandal brewing.
[10:30]	schestowitz[TR]	PSS - lately I spend entire weekends catching up with rss feeds that had low yield -- deja vu (yes, patents!), hence the need to produce more and read faster. HEY HI or not, a lot of the Web is full of people who repeat PR scripts. ANY refutation to the parrots (like Sam used to do) is VERY important. Even one decent refutation can correct the public opinion.
