I always estimated that their individual IQ would be close to 10 and maybe even lower than that. I based my estimate on how they lose millions of dollars in profit to the competition due to their lack of foresight and imbecilic thinking that moving jobs to Moti's country will save IBM. It won't. But it will mean HCL will get IBM at [07:03] schestowitz[TR2] a bargain basement price from Alvind sooner and not later. If comparisons to the dot-com bubble are apt, there are likely to be some big losers and some very big winners. Although many companies went under during the dot-com bubble, many companies survived and went on to become market leaders most notably, e-commerce giant Amazon. [22:28] schestowitz[TR2] My take: What's happening is, they created the hype (they is media, etc) and now they are covering their b utt s talking about the burst of a bubble they themselves created. So they create fake and then they cover their bottoms. Secondly, yes, we will have winners and losers or more like survivors or not. IBM is in the not list. AK knows it, and that's why is trying to pivot to some other bubble, like Quantum-nothing burger. [22:28] schestowitz[TR2] The article that initiated this thread @OP is correct, IBM has no credible AI story, not because of their capable workers, but because management is useless, and I'm not being cute so that people posting here will like me, I mean it. [22:30] schestowitz[TR2] The reality is that employees are treated like numbers on someones spreadsheet high up in the chain... if you never had much visibility with that person, often due to weak leadership in your reporting line (no skip-level meetings, no proper alignment, there is noo support for your role), youre vulnerable... When the pressure comes, especially over just one or two quarters, youre likely to be cut regardless of your actual cont [22:30] schestowitz[TR2] ributions. [22:30] schestowitz[TR2] That kind of RA strategy is not only nonsense its also very much destructive. It ki-ls IBM. It undermines trust, demoralizes employees, and wrecks careers for no justifiable reason. it hurts both the people and the company itself. I received an email stating that I was a Low Performer which was total nonsense based on my last review. I asked my manager in Toronto why this happened and he said he was asked by his director in Austin to do it and said, "I didn't think you'd ever know about it." Why does IBM do this? So they can get money to backfill the position wi [22:30] schestowitz[TR2] th someone else. EVIL. [22:30] schestowitz[TR2] I think the CEO and senior executives are slowly ki-ling IBM because revenue isn't actually increasing. They lay off thousands of people every year in North America, Europe and Canada and then move these jobs to India to reduce labour costs by 80%. Then their "revenue" looks acceptable each quarter. IBM is cheating the shareholders. It's one big scam. [22:30] schestowitz[TR2] Smart employees are no longer welcome, they d-mb down an entire organization slowly, but surely. Smart people scare AK and the Gang, because they have no IQ. In my last performance evaluation, my manager wrote about my unusual combination of skills and what a great asset I was to the team. Five months later I was RAed. IBM as is the case of most US corporations that went after cheap labor in India that resulted in dismal work and quality is to bring back these jobs to the US. CS graduates in the US are having hard times finding jobs. Those US CS graduates have lost the chance to have US based mentors. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] So, death is very predictable for IBM and its likes that are by the Indian cabal and depleted jobs from the US and send it to cheap Indians. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] I would add that the same person as CEO and Chairman may work in corporations where the founder (person that started the company and brought it to success) is still around. This is because rhe individual that started the company earned the right to have both jobs if he wants to, provided the numbers continue to be there. This is not the case for IBM at all, obviously. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] The idea is that they need to create strong check and balances, and what we have seen in the event of these two useless corporate animals (Ginni and Tonic and Low IQ) Ugly AK is absolutely a NO. Someone should have been appointed as a counterbalance for both. So, these two terrible, terrible CEOs have no checks and balances or when the time comes for checks and balances previous time has been lost. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] So the answer is, absolutely, inequitably, NO WAY that Ginni and Tonic and Low IQ Ugly AK deserve and should be allowed to have both titles. NO, NO, NO. These two never built anything, they just play politics, games and destroy anything that comes their way. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] However, it has to be a person that does deliver such check and balances, if they are gong to be an I n b e d with each other situation, it would not deliver its purpose. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] Yes IMHO, the separation of responsibilities "might" have prevented the mismanagement issues that arose with both Ginni (and Tonic) and Alvind. But at the same time, there could also have been collusion between a separate CEO and Chairperson to enrich themselves at the expense of shareholders and employees. If the board of trustees was strong, they would have clawed back both Ginni's and Alvind's compensation packages and reduced t [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] hem years ago. But it has not been the case; it's been more a case of the foxes allowed to guard the h-nhouse, so they rob what they like with impunity. [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] Alvind has no ethics or morals and the is evident from his tenure. Same applies to Ginni, despite her protestations to the contrary. They both talk a good game but they do not practice what they preach - particularly when it comes to following the IBM Business Conduct Guidelines. Duh, I forgot that they follow the crooked McKinsey principles ! [22:33] schestowitz[TR2] " [22:37] schestowitz[TR2] "Theres nothing brilliant about 99% of the people who come on H1B. The system was designed to push down US tech wages and shift the cost of training onto someone elses dime (Infosys, TATA, and other outsourcers). It benefits corporations, outsourcers, and people on visas, but it does not benefit US workers or the country as a whole. Since US workers vote, and the line has now been crossed, the political class is scrambling be [22:37] schestowitz[TR2] cause they know whoever takes action here will scoop up millions of votes. The logic is upside down, but thats how it works. [22:37] schestowitz[TR2] The other issue is that India takes 80% of the visas, which distorts the demographic balance and fuels resentment. If India has 15-20% of the global population, and assuming talent is normally distributed, then the numbers dont add up. A fair system would not result in 80% of visas going to one country. [22:37] schestowitz[TR2] Ive worked with some incredible Indian colleagues, but Ive also seen plenty who were nowhere near "brilliant" - enough to make me question the entire process. And after more than 10 years at Accenture (I left a few years ago), Ive seen pretty much every shenanigan in the book, so I speak from firsthand experience."
