[00:50]	DaemonFC	Companies don't like being sued. They have a euphemism called tort reform.

[00:51]	DaemonFC	The person suffered third degree burns on their crotch.
[00:51]	DaemonFC	If they had turned down the temperature 35 degrees F or so the coffee would have still been hot, but not enough to do that.

[00:52]	DaemonFC	There's now instructions from corporate on how hot McDonalds coffee can be kept on the burner.

[00:53]	DaemonFC	There was a company that made motor oil and then didn't put detergent in it, so it was damaging expensive engines in people's cars.

[00:54]	DaemonFC	Intel got sued for rigging performance benchmarks by a lot so that people would buy their processors expecting them to be worth a premium over AMD's. They got sued.

[11:54]	DaemonFC	Governor Pritzker in Illinois has used the Illinois Emergency Management Act to suspend laws, write up rules that conflict with laws, etc. and all of this says that he has that authority for 30 days.
[11:54]	DaemonFC	This emergency has been going on for 18 months and nobody has challenged it.
[11:55]	DaemonFC	The law says that the emergency must end after 30 days, so he technically declares a new emergency every 30 days. Even though there's really no rules in effect to mitigate the spread of COVID, his emergency powers remain. He continues to suspend laws.
[11:56]	DaemonFC	At this point, the constitutional government in Illinois has broken down almost entirely.
[11:57]	DaemonFC	About the only thing the governor can't do at this point is pass a budget bill or unilaterally add criminal offenses to the legal system.
[11:57]	DaemonFC	But the orders coming out have been jaw dropping. They touch almost everything, including commerce, in ways that couldn't even be tortured into a connection with the Coronavirus.
