[02:02] heureka instead, they argue as if i wouldn't work or there wasn't any worthy contribution [02:03] heureka a circular argument, they don't pay, and they say it's worth nothing... [02:03] XRevan86 Not rural. [02:03] heureka i just mean to say rural areas in russia are different to german rural areas [02:04] heureka russia, less densely populated, eed, income, that's a fact [02:04] heureka and in the cities i fear, the typical soviet housing dominates in many regions [02:04] *horseface has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) [02:05] heureka those massive appartment blocks with people densely crowded into [02:06] XRevan86 heureka: New buildings are often even denser than the Soviet ones. [02:06] XRevan86 https://novostroy-a.akamaihd.net/regions/u/news/880x/5b056410cd2ba.jpeg [02:06] XRevan86 Welcome to the nightmare that is called Kudrovo. [02:07] heureka i know, similar cities were established in east germany [02:08] XRevan86 https://r.nf/r/UrbanHell/comments/c77109 r/UrbanHell, heh [02:08] heureka i grew up in appartment blocks established in 1930s in germany, the apparments were small [02:08] TR Bot Kudrovo, St. Petersburg - r/UrbanHell [02:08] heureka at least, parks and social facilities were considered, with those 1930s "garden city" type districits [02:09] XRevan86 Kudrovo is not famous for its social facilities. [02:09] heureka is this the place where you live? [02:09] XRevan86 Hell no [02:09] XRevan86 But one of my relatives considered the place. [02:09] XRevan86 https://cs14.pikabu.ru/post_img/2021/03/30/4/1617082327183932018.webp [02:10] heureka often, there isn't any choice [02:10] XRevan86 https://cs12.pikabu.ru/post_img/big/2021/03/30/4/1617082917161417868.png [02:10] heureka in east-germany before 1990, appartements were assigned by the bureaucracy [02:10] XRevan86 heureka: I am familiar with that system. [02:10] heureka nowadays, it's a matter of pricing and income, again often no choice [02:11] heureka before 1990 those massive appartment blocks were desireable nonetheless, because of heating installations [02:11] heureka in east germany, we stil had an oven with coal fired... [02:11] heureka this was common standard [02:12] heureka at least it was cheap, ~60Mark-East for a flat of ~60sqm; nowadays that's ~15EUros, barely suffices to rent a square meter or two [02:13] XRevan86 That panorama shot is pretty telling, it shows Kudrovo (~2020 architecture) compared to the pathetic Soviet construction to the right of it. [02:13] heureka thats ~2000Mark-East for the exact same flat, see the trend 60Mark-East up to 2000Mark east for the rent, in 30 years [02:13] XRevan86 Those Soviet multi-storey buildings are like ants, immobile ants. [02:14] heureka well, the concept to crowd that many people densely together... no. [02:14] XRevan86 So yea, that's the trend in Russia: more density, not less of it. [02:15] heureka when i was younger, i imagined one day i could afford a house and car and family... [02:15] XRevan86 At least in Moscow and St. Petersburg. [02:15] heureka quickly realized, this wasn't how the system was tailored [02:15] heureka after 1990 [02:16] heureka what i am really angry about: not at least some office space nowhere near being affordable [02:16] heureka meanwhile, office space was available in Leipzig for example, alot of it [02:16] heureka how is this possible? [02:17] heureka and then i realized, there is different rules involved... [02:18] heureka one sentence: "this is your office"... and had reconsidered, to stay. [02:18] heureka however this bureacratic monstrosity, they couldn't imagine anymore [02:18] heureka after 20years, all i can do: wait and see what happens [02:19] heureka such as excess inflation now, again, after two preceedin expropriations [02:19] heureka 40years, three expropriations [02:19] XRevan86 It's not an exclusively German thing. [02:32] heureka it's affordable still, nonetheless, it's certainly not "too cheap" as policians say, and i am not eating much of it either, as they say i had [02:32] XRevan86 Again, conversion be damned, very approximately. [02:36] heureka yes, i tried to think ahead, and plan ahead, yet there was no basis to plan ahead [02:36] heureka those two currency reforms alone, from one day to another... [03:11] heureka i have no problem with anyone else choosing chrome to read developer.arm.com, however i do only accept w3m/lynx/links [03:11] heureka and can't anymore [03:12] XRevan86 Reader Mode is a thing after all, so it's not that wild to get a TUI web browser with Gecko/Spidermonkey or Chromium in the backend. [03:13] heureka those tui browsers already do exist: w3m/lynx/links.... [03:14] XRevan86 The move forward on this concept is Gemini, but convincing ARM to host Gemini is not going to be easy. [03:14] heureka and that's only a rather shallow approach to understanding [03:14] heureka if you dig down deeper... another show-stopper today, asm hacking [03:15] XRevan86 If ye actually want to browse the modern web, ye will in fact need Firefox or Chromium. [03:15] heureka you see, there is a combination between those too unrelated questions, to read some specific documentation, for some specific hardware ASM hacking [03:16] heureka how often do you want to circle around this: no chromium, no firefox no edge, no webkit, none of this at my desk, never again for the rest of my life [03:16] XRevan86 If your bar is this high, then ye're just setting yourself up for failure. [03:16] heureka nope, that's only the final stroke of today [03:17] heureka further down below, gnu toolchain, gnu buildsystem, you have no idea... it's just... as i said [03:17] heureka i'll freeze at gcc47, and too archive the tcc-toolchain profile, and terminate the project [03:17] XRevan86 "If your bar is this high, then ye're just setting yourself up for failure." <- But if your Internet is doomed, then maybe it doesn't matter all that much. [19:41] DaemonFC 20 years ago, almost everyone had plenty of cash. [19:42] DaemonFC If the new DVD you wanted was out, you just went to Best Buy and paid the $25 or $30, which was a lot more money back then, you know. [19:42] DaemonFC You didn't think anything of it because there would be more money next week when you got paid. [19:42] DaemonFC And that's how things should work, and that's not how things work anymore. [19:44] DaemonFC People are too afraid to go buy a $20 item because the Democrat healthcare bill has tripled the cost of going to the doctor and the Democrat "rescue plans" have caused their savings to rot by 30% in just two years while the Democrat jobs creation plan still has us down 15 million jobs vs. Pre-Democrat COVID scam and employers are laying off again after it looked like things might have been leveling out for a while. [19:45] DaemonFC And of course the Democrats don't want you to focus on how they've ruined your life, ruined your savings, and made you unemployable. [19:45] DaemonFC So they send people out to accuse you of using the wrong gender pronouns, like Mister GULAG. [19:46] DaemonFC Meanwhile, people are furious and the Republicans are biding their time knowing that soon, people will accept someone even worse than Trump, who also claims to "have all of the answers". [19:47] DaemonFC It's amazing how they all have all of the answers. With every single one of them knowing exactly what to do for over 250 years, you'd think things would be better than ever. [19:48] DaemonFC It's amazing that schestowitz-TR2-land is in terminal rot too and he still finds time for his petty torments. [19:48] DaemonFC As if things were getting better all the time for them. [19:49] DaemonFC The only thing an unarmed populace throws into the mix is that the government is even more brazen in the terror campaigns because it knows for sure nobody will show up to a council meeting fed up with it and shoot one of them. [19:50] DaemonFC You notice Stallman was angry that things changed fast, even in California, when they got tired of their jobs being destroyed by the town council and started harassing them and voting them out until the people doing it were all gone? [19:50] DaemonFC Well, they got rid of the locals doing it anyway. The state itself is a basket case. [19:51] DaemonFC The reason they scare so easily is probably because politics there works a lot like it does in Illinois. [19:52] DaemonFC They were already there for 20-30 years and had already stuffed their overseas bank accounts with bribe money and now they might actually get shot by someone for stepping over the line too much, so they decide to get out of Dodge and Stallman thinks this is bad because his news is the Grauniad. [19:52] *techuser has quit (Ping timeout: 2m30s) [19:54] DaemonFC Economics isn't really that complicated. The people who make it complicated are the ones who don't want anyone to understand that they're repackaging a complex system of theft. [19:55] DaemonFC After the IRS sucks another $800 billion out of the American economy and spends it on all sorts of ridiculous things and, ironically worse, "deficit reduction", the economy will contract even more harshly than it has already. [19:56] DaemonFC That's because most of their new enforcement power either targets low to middle income individuals who spend money and create jobs or businesses which will simply raise prices on the same people to account for the new tax loss. [19:57] DaemonFC Broken down very simply..... Little Caesars had pizzas for $5 for many years. [19:57] DaemonFC For more than 20 years, you could walk into Little Caesars any time of the day and grab a pepperoni pizza, and usually very fresh because the cheap price meant they sold a ton of them and were constantly making more. [19:59] DaemonFC When Biden got into office, things started breaking down immediately. The $5 pizza that worked since the 1990s no longer was possible. First they raised it to $6, now $6.50. A lot of that is increases in the costs of labor and utilities, and having to make up for the cost of rent hikes at their stores by landlords, and supply chain problems making getting tomatoes, cheese, pepperoni, and pizza dough more difficult. ● Aug 19 [20:00] DaemonFC The owners of the stores say they had been making 50 cents profit on the $5 pizza before, but now they're losing 30 cents every time they sell one for $6.50 but corporate demands they sell them and suggests using suggestive selling to make the customer leave with profitable items to make up for it. [20:01] DaemonFC The workers got raises, you say? Oh well, that's spectacular. Maybe that makes up for everything, right? Wrong. [20:02] DaemonFC Because the workers got raises, the owners have to prioritize who is left. Mandy's boss at Walmart has been on the war path firing people on the lower end of the productivity scale, even if they were technically making their rate, because corporate demands payroll cuts and so you find reasons to fire people even whose output is nominally acceptable. They become unemployable. [20:02] DaemonFC Then the remaining workers have to work harder to make up for the fact that 10% more work needs to be done. [20:03] DaemonFC While that's going on, the workers who got a raise are now kicked off of their Obamacare Medicaid and have go pay for health insurance, which their employer doesn't offer because the fine is cheaper. They also lose access to Head Start, which was watching their children while they were at work, and their food stamp benefits are cut in half. [20:04] DaemonFC Then tax time comes along, and the Earned Income Tax Credit is no longer available to them, they also owe the IRS money, and Biden's new agents are combing over their previous filings looking for mistakes from the last 6 years where they took the credit. [20:06] DaemonFC Then we get back to the pizzas. Little Caesars makes so much money that they lose 15% of their revenues to the government, which means they have to push those costs to the customer, just like their suppliers do to them, and the $6.50 pizza is now $9 while the IRS is harassing the low wage workers, only 80% of which still have a job. [20:07] DaemonFC Sales crash because everyone is losing their jobs and wages regress to the minimum amount that is legally payable to the rest because so many people need a job. [20:07] DaemonFC And the remaining workers lose their jobs and the store closes. [20:08] DaemonFC Then you get to the Democrat Fairness principle. 15 people including the manager who worked at each of those stores now has no jobs, the government is collecting no tax because they destroyed the business, the owner of the business is ruined, and now everything is fair. [20:08] TR News "Have you ever been tempted by those metal 3D printing services?" https://hackaday.com/2022/08/18/put-3d-metal-printing-services-to-the-test-by-making-a-watch/ | Source: Hackaday [20:08] TR Bot 3D Metal Printing Services To The Test, By Making A Watch | Hackaday [20:08] DaemonFC Then they can't spend money anywhere else, so more people in the economy lose their jobs and so on and so on. [20:09] DaemonFC It's so simple you could explain it to a five year old. [20:09] DaemonFC Why doesn't Richard Stallman get it? [20:10] DaemonFC The Democrats are ruining the economy, ruining America, and distracting everyone with complaints about gender pronouns. [20:12] DaemonFC They want to pass a new national dental plan while they haven't given doctors and nurses a raise in decades and all of those people are fleeing to work in the US, and their emergency rooms are closing down.
