One Positive Note About GNU/Linux Coverage in 2023 (Less Microsoft)
THE ONE good thing we noticed in the age of dying news sites is that in recent months we could barely find any coverage, not even HowTos, about proprietary Microsoft things 'for' GNU/Linux (Teams, Edge, Visual Studio Code etc.), with the rare exception like fake news about SQL Server being 'on' GNU/Linux (it was never ported, it's Drawbridge!) and this new example. Why give people advice on installing malware that covertly steals all their passwords, sending them to Microsoft and the NSA?
We're not sure what's causing the change, but we certainly hope that bloggers understand reality. They ought to know that giving any kind of publicity to Microsoft spyware/malware 'on' GNU/Linux is self-harming to sites. GNU/Linux users do not want this, with very rare exceptions. As a side note, WSL is barely ever mentioned anymore. We reckon it will be unofficially dead within months or years. If people wanted to run "real" GNU/Linux under Windows, they'd get VirtualBox or something of that sort. WSL is an actual attack on GNU/Linux. Look who's promoting it (other than Phoronix): Microsoft's media mole and propaganda agent, Simon Bisson. █
