IBM's Red Hat is Promoting Microsoft Azure. It Even Calls Mass Surveillance "Confidential" (Same Lie Microsoft Pays Canonical to Spread).
Essential reading/background: Canonical is Microsoft Marketing, Promoting Mass Surveillance as "Ubuntu confidential VMs" | Canonical Selling and Upselling Microsoft, Calling NSA Surveillance 'Confidential' | CC Used to Mean Creative Commons, Now the Linux Foundation et al Associate CC With DRM and Spying (Chaos Computer Club Also at Risk) | [Video] Microsoft's TPM Position is a Wake-up Call About Canonical (Which Helps Microsoft Push and Promote TPM) | Canonical Nowadays Shamelessly Behaving Like a Division of Microsoft, Selling Notorious Proprietary Software, Back Doors, and TPM/DRM | Mark Shuttleworth's (MS) Canonical Running Microsoft (MS) Ads, Mischaracterising Mass Surveillance as 'Confidential' (the Usual Lie)
This is the latest from Red Hat (which did loads of Microsoft promotion this past week, as we last showed earlier today, blatantly contradicting its "Open Source" mission):
Azure is mentioned about 20 times in that page! 2 of the authors are Microsoft employees (yes, writing in Red Hat's redhat.com).
Red Hat's future as a Microsoft reseller should trouble everybody, except Microsoft. Red Hat's strategy under IBM is inherently a betrayal of the community that made most of the software. It's like another Novell, except over a decade later.
'Confidential'? Bollocks.
We've already explained (see links above) why it's a big lie that we must collectively reject and educate other people about. Sadly, many of today's decision-makers lack a background in computing and IBM elevates slug eaters who are worse than just lacking tech literacy. They don't hire and promote based on skills but based on politics. And since Microsoft is practically a lot like a cult, this is a serious problem for society and for ICT.
