Debian is Back to Taking Money From Microsoft, the Company That's Attacking Linux From the Inside
IN SOME ways, Debian has lost its way. Years ago we saw that SPI, not just DebConf, began taking money (with strings) from Microsoft, along with UEFI 'secure' boot pushers like Canonical and Lenovo. If Debian fails to understand what's wrong with it, that's a problem.
My wife and I remain happy Debian users, but we're happy with the technical facets rather than the project or its leadership. Debian really should not be selling out to its sworn enemies. The money comes with strings; it's not a donation because corporations cannot give donations - they need to rationalise any giveaways as something with financial returns. The outcome can be a seat at the table or something even worse, more sinister and damaging. █
